Then join us to hear Kathleen Curto speak on what Proverbs 4:23 means, what duties are required to keep the heart pure, the reasons for being diligent to keep your heart and how to do so in particular times, such as in times of adversity, or great trials. Welcome to our annual Women's Bible Conference page. This year we will be learning more about Keeping the Heart. What does keeping the heart mean, you ask? The word "keep" here means "guard." Guard against what or keep it for what? In the words of the Reverend John Flavel, "to keep the heart then, is carefully to preserve it from sin which disorders it; and maintain that spiritual and gracious frame, which fits it for a life of communion with God." Don't you just long to put off the old man and live in greater communion with God? Don't you just wish to "lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and run with endurance the race that is set before you, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of your faith" (Hebrews 12:1)?
